Welcome to the GBSC-HLC Section
of our Web site!
 The Board of Trustees created and approved a strategic plan four years ago that included seeking regional accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools as one of its five major objectives. That process has begun and we want to keep you informed about our progress. Therefore, we have assembled this section of our Web site to achieve that purpose.
GBSC hosted a HLC evaluation team September 19-21, 2005. They came to campus to verify what we presented in our Self-Study, as well as to meet with various staff and to review documents relevant to the institution. The end result was the achievement of candidate status on February 10, 2006.
On October 19, 2006, more than 30 people assembled in the Martin Dining Room for the first general meeting of the final push toward regional accreditation. After prayerful consideration, GBSC decided to ask that the 2007 visit be for “initial accreditation” rather than “continued candidacy.” In essence, this allowed us to jump ahead two years in the process.
In light of these new goals, GBSC created a second Self-Study and hosted another HLC evaluation team on campus September 24-26, 2007. Their Team Report is included here. Read through it and you will be proud to be a part of God’s Bible School and College!
We are excited to announce that effective February 14, 2008, GBSC now enjoys full accreditation with its regional accrediting agency, HLC. Thank God for His help in making this effort successful!
