Adjunct Faculty

Adjunct Faculty

The Division of Professional Studies seeks qualified applicants on an ongoing basis to fill teaching positions in the following fields: mathematics, science, sociology, philosophy, business and history. Positions will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality instruction that facilitates student learning.
  • Prepare course lessons and materials in a timely, thorough manner.
  • Communicate course outcomes, requirements, expectations, and assignments clearly with a syllabus approved by the division.
  • Provide students with regular quantitative and qualitative feedback.
  • Regularly update student grades on the faculty portal.

Assistant Cook

Assistant Cook

Classification: Part-Time, Staff Member, 42-Week
Supervisor: Food Services Director
Supervises: Student employees as directed by the Food Service Director

Perform routine food service activities related to the setting up of serving areas and the serving of food to students and staff, perform cashiering duties, maintain cleanliness of food service facilities.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Cook should:

  • Assist in the operation of the kitchen for all on-campus dining
  • Maintain clear oral and written communication with the Director of Food Services on all food service matters
  • Assist with student employees assigned to this department
  • Recommend healthy and nutritious menus
  • Assist in preparing, heating, portioning, and serving food to students and staff according to established procedures.
  • Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment such as dishwasher and ovens; report faulty equipment as necessary.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Food Services

Qualifications

The Assistant Cook should have:

  • Experience in food preparation for large groups (or willingness to learn)

The Campus Babysitter is responsible for providing safe, attentive, and nurturing care for employee children during the workday in support of the campus community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and care for employee children during designated hours
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized childcare environment
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities, play, and learning opportunities
  • Assist with basic childcare needs such as snacks, restroom breaks, and rest times
  • Monitor children’s behavior and ensure appropriate discipline and guidance

College Faculty Member and Music Division Chair

College Faculty Member and Music Division Chair

Position: College Faculty Member and Music Division Chair
Classification: Full-Time, Faculty Member, 42-Week
Supervisor: Vice President for Academic Affairs and/or designated Dean
Supervises: Division faculty and staff

College division chairs support GBSC’s mission by promoting learning and teaching excellence as they participate in academic leadership under the direction of the VPAA and/or dean and lead the academic division they serve.

As faculty members, they also support student success by facilitating learning within and outside the classroom, on campus and online, and by modeling Christian discipleship holistically, especially in the life of the mind.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in academic governance and leadership, including serving on the Academic Committee
  • Lead their academic divisions
    • Promote student learning, development, and success for all students, especially those in the division’s programs
    • Regularly convene and lead division faculty meetings
    • Represent the division in their Academic Committee service
    • Facilitate communication between academic/institutional leadership and division faculty
    • Ensure ongoing division planning and assessment, both of student learning and operations, and propose divisional budgets aligned with assessment/planning
    • Ensure implementation of college policies
    • Promote and ensure teaching excellence within the division
    • Assign teaching load to division faculty members
    • Ensure secure maintenance of divisional records
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Academic Affairs

Music Division Preferred Qualifications and Division-specific Duties

  • Knowledge and application in performance, pedagogy, music education, and worship studies.
  • Supervise divisional activities such as new student auditions, recital hearings, juries, hiring adjuncts, etc., and maintain accurate records of results.
  • Oversee/assign planning and communication for music events (e.g., Christmas Program, retreats, student recitals, ensemble concerts, and camps); work with the Media office to publicize divisional and college-wide music events.

Education Faculty

The Division of Professional Studies seeks qualified applicants to fill a full-time faculty position in the field of education. In addition to teaching and advising duties, the faculty member chosen for this position will oversee program assessment & accreditation and will facilitate the expansion of education programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach up to nine hours of education courses per semester.
  • Advise up to twenty education majors.
  • Oversee education program assessment and accreditation.
  • Facilitate expansion of education programs.

Faculty Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction that facilitates student learning.
  • Prepare course lessons and materials in a timely, thorough manner.
  • Communicate course outcomes, requirements, expectations, and assignments clearly with a syllabus approved by the division.

  • Applicants who hold an accredited doctorate in education (i.e., educational foundations, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, etc.) are preferred. Applicants with an accredited master’s degree in education may also be considered.

  • Candidates with experience in program assessment, accreditation processes, and program development are preferred.
English Faculty

English Faculty

GBSC is currently seeking applications for the position of IT Systems Administrator. The IT Systems Administrator’s basic function is to, primarily, maintain campus server technology and, secondly, assist in IT Help Desk operations.

    • Plan, deploy, and manage a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution to monitor and respond to security incidents.
    • Ensure continuous monitoring of network, servers, and endpoints for security breaches and unusual activity, responding to threats in real-time.
  • Incident Response and Threat Management
    • Develop and maintain the college’s incident response plan, ensuring efficient response to data breaches, security incidents, and other emergencies.
    • Perform regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to ensure system integrity and data security.
  • Cybersecurity Policy Development
    • Assist in the creation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and procedures in accordance with legal and compliance requirements.

    • Manage and configure firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to safeguard network infrastructure.

The Student Recruiter is responsible for recruiting and guiding prospective students through the enrollment process into God’s Bible School and College’s various degree programs and educational pathways.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with prospective students via phone, email, text, and social media, following the prescribed strategy
  • Schedule and conduct individual meetings with prospective students
  • Plan and conduct visits to key accounts
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key influencers
  • Represent GBSC at promotional events
