Elementary Teacher

Elementary Teacher

Supervisor: Academy Principal
Supervises: Student Aid if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and attractive classroom.
  • Teach classes as assigned by the principal.
  • Attend weekly staff and prayer meetings.
  • Keep track of attendance, tardies, and assist in making sure students are dressed according to the dress code.
  • Keep parents informed of students’ academic progress.
  • Attend all school functions both for Academy and College.
  • Keeping daily records for Mandated  Reimbursement Program.
  • Attend professional development seminars, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a positive role model both spiritually and professionally toward colleagues, parents, and students.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree (required), an advanced degree (preferred).
  • Classroom management skills.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal),
  • A willingness to follow directions from administration,
  • A thorough understanding of a Christian philosophy of teaching,
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and to be flexible,
  • An ability to work with parents and students of various backgrounds,
  • A strong holiness background.
Middle School / Secondary Teacher

Middle School / Secondary Teacher

Supervisor: Academy Principal
Supervises: Student aides if applicable
Basic Function:  Serve as a teacher of a Middle School / Secondary Classroom

Responsibilities

The duties of the Middle School / Secondary Teacher include the following:

  • Maintain a clean and attractive classroom.
  • Teach classes as assigned by the principal.
  • Attend weekly staff and prayer meetings.
  • Keep track of attendance, tardies, and assist in making sure students are dressed according to dress code.
  • Keep parents informed of students’ academic progress.
  • Attend all school functions both for Academy and some College events.
  • Keeping daily records for Mandated Reimbursement Program.

Secondary Administrative Assistant

Secondary Administrative Assistant

Supervisor: Academy Principal
Supervises: none
Basic Function:  The ACA Secondary Administrative Assistant manages the secondary office and all of the duties listed below.

Responsibilities

  • HS/MS attendance
    • Email sent out by 9 a.m. with days attendance and updated throughout the day with tardies/dismissals
  • HS/MS tardy slips
  • Answer phones/questions
  • Be present in HS office
  • Get students for early dismissals, half days etc…
  • HS locker info
    • Locker assignments
    • Codes
  • Create/Communicate alternate schedules
  • Attend MS/HS faculty meetings
  • Keep/update MS/HS student files
  • Record tally information
    • Keep record of levels reached by hs/ms students
    • Assign consequences from levels reached according to the handbook
  • Communication of Flames events
  • Flames accounts
  • Flames paperwork
  • Monitor Fundraising accounts
  • Monitor dress code issues
  • Counseling (spiritual/social)
  • Help with organization of HS events

IT Help Desk Technician

IT Help Desk Technician

Classification: Full-Time, Staff Member, 52-Week
Supervisor: IT Director

GBSC is currently seeking applications for the position of IT Help Desk Technician. This role’s basic function is to, primarily, support and maintain ACA staff, faculty, and student computers, and classroom technology.

ACA seeks to use technology aggressively in its mission, and the overall technology program includes:

  • Office and classroom technologies (K-12 & college)
  • Network access (wired & wifi)
  • Printer connectivity
  • Google GSuite Apps for Education

Responsibilities

  • Primary ACA Help Desk technician
  • Secondary GBSC Help Desk technician
  • Maintain technology list and help plan for upgrades
  • Prioritize and fulfill helpdesk tickets
  • Make purchasing recommendations related to campus technology
  • Teaching a technology class (optional)

Required technical qualifications

  • Experience working in a Microsoft and G Suite work environment
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Google ChromeOS systems

Preferred technical qualifications

  • Two-year or Four-year degree and two+ years of experience in the information technology field
  • Experience supporting Windows 2008, 2012 and 2016 servers
  • Experience supporting Chromeboxes and Chromebooks
  • Experience supporting Papercut or similar printer management software
  • Experience implementing and supporting educational technology

Required personal qualifications

  • Professing Christian with a good reputation and in agreement with the GBSC Statement of Faith
  • Understand and be in harmony with the mission and objectives of GBSC
  • Ability to serve faculty, staff and students in a professional manner, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality when necessary
  • Strong interpersonal skills in matters of basic hospitality, phone conversations, and interactions with the public
