33_webMembers of the college community may borrow information items available in the campus libraries. Members of the faculty may place materials on course reserves and students may access course reserve materials at the circulation desk (Main Floor, Flexon Library).

Users may also email themselves images of scanned documents. Users may add copies/prints to their account using their ID card. For more information about pricing and setting up an account please visit the Circulation Desk.

Flexon Library Circulation Policies

Scope: All library users

Library Accounts

All GBSC employees, students and ACA students (see ACA Library Access Policies) receive a library account upon the start date of employment/enrollment. Employee household members may also visit the library to set up a library account.

Each library user is responsible for all material borrowed on his/her library account.

Patrons with fines greater than $10.00 (and/or items overdue for greater than 45 days) will not be allowed to check out items.

For additional information or inquiries regarding library accounts, please visit the library circulation desk or contact the library via phone or email.

Library Fees

Patrons who lose, damage, or destroy items will be billed for the cost of replacement as well as charged a processing fee of $5.00 per item. Patrons may not personally replace items that have been lost or damaged.

Items overdue by greater than 45 days will be marked as lost and billed to the patron’s account accordingly.

All accounts with fees $10 or more will be restricted until payment has been made on the balance. A restricted account may not circulate library items including renewal of items or Course Reserve items. Fines on any account should be paid at the circulation desk. All student accounts with balances greater than $10.00 will be billed to their GBSC student account at the end of each month. At the end of each semester, remaining balances will also be billed to their account.

Recall

All circulating materials are subject to recall for the Course Reserve Shelf. When a recall notice is issued, the original due date is cancelled and a new due date is established.

  • All items checked out can be recalled for Reserve.
  • The recall due date overrides the original due date.
  • Recalled items not returned by the updated due date will be fined at the rate of $1.00 per day.
  • Items that are overdue and that have been recalled are subject to immediate recall fines, starting from the original due date. Recall fines are $1.00 a day.
