Receptionist

Receptionist

Supervisor: Executive Assistant to the President
Supervises: None

Serves as receptionist for the College, operates the main incoming phone line, and assists other offices as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare office for guests in the morning: lights and doors.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls: 8:00 AM–12:00 Noon
  • Greet and serve guests.
  • Assist President’s Office, Registrar, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, Cashier’s
    Office, and other offices as necessary (in this order).
  • Receive incoming packages.
  • Aid in intercom and radio communication.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or capability to learn workings of telephone system and other basic office
    equipment, such as two-way radios

Website Developer

Website Developer

Classification: Full-Time, Staff Member, 52-Week
Supervisor:  Director of Digital Strategies and User Experience

The Website Developer’s basic function is to design, develop and maintain our web content and ensure that the website is updated regularly with relevant material. This role also helps with SEO, local SEO, marketing strategies and more.

    IT Help Desk Technician

    IT Help Desk Technician

    Classification: Full-Time, Staff Member, 52-Week

    GBSC is currently seeking applications for the position of IT Help Desk Technician. This role’s basic function is to, primarily, support and maintain ACA staff, faculty, and student computers, and classroom technology.

    ACA seeks to use technology aggressively in its mission, and the overall technology program includes:

    • Office and classroom technologies (K-12 & college)
    • Network access (wired & wifi)
    • Printer connectivity
    • Google GSuite Apps for Education

    Responsibilities

    • Primary ACA Help Desk technician
    • Secondary GBSC Help Desk technician
    • Maintain technology list and help plan for upgrades
    • Prioritize and fulfill helpdesk tickets
    • Make purchasing recommendations related to campus technology
    • Teaching a technology class (optional)

    Required technical qualifications

    • Experience working in a Microsoft and G Suite work environment
    • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Google ChromeOS systems

    Preferred technical qualifications

    • Two-year or Four-year degree and two+ years of experience in the information technology field

    • Record student attendance regularly on the faculty portal.
    • Submit midterm and final grades on time using the faculty portal.

    The Division of Professional Studies seeks qualified applicants to fill a full-time faculty position in the field of education. In addition to teaching and advising duties, the faculty member chosen for this position will oversee program assessment & accreditation and will facilitate the expansion of education programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Teach up to nine hours of education courses per semester.
    • Advise up to twenty education majors.
    • Oversee education program assessment and accreditation.
    • Facilitate expansion of education programs.

    Faculty Responsibilities

    • Deliver high-quality instruction that facilitates student learning.
    • Prepare course lessons and materials in a timely, thorough manner.
    • Communicate course outcomes, requirements, expectations, and assignments clearly with a syllabus approved by the division.
    • Provide students with regular quantitative and qualitative feedback.
    • Regularly update student grades on the learning management system.
    • Record and report on student attendance regularly.
    • Submit final grades on time through the learning management system.
    • Communicate promptly and professionally with students, colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Applicants who hold an accredited doctorate in education (i.e., educational foundations, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, etc.) are preferred. Applicants with an accredited master’s degree in education may also be considered.
    • Candidates with demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching and experience in academic advising are preferred.
    • Candidates with experience in program assessment, accreditation processes, and program development are preferred.

    Music Office Manager

    Music Office Manager

    Position: Music Office Manager
    Classification: Full-Time, 40-Weeks
    Supervisor: Music Division Chair
    Supervises: Student workers

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the Division Chair and music faculty (day-to-day office and seasonal/event tasks)
    • Prepare and distribute monthly Chapel Music Schedules, Revival and Commissioning Weekend Music Schedules
    • General Office Tasks: creating documents; filing documents and music major information 
    • Compile & implement several mailings throughout the year (Patron Program, Music Event announcements, etc.)
    • Oversee Music Library Tasks: stamp, label, enter new music into the electronic inventory, file in library; copy music for the following organizations: Gospel Choir, Christmas Choir, Gospel Band, Christmas Band, Evening with SWSE, Choral Instrumental Ensemble, Homecoming, IHC, Oratorio Orchestra; collect folders, replace music in inventory and check for missing items.
    • College Choir/SWSE assistance: produce member list documents; prepare conductor scores; create music folders for members; copy tour documents; develop lyrics sheet for members and congregation
    • Applied Lessons: Prepare lesson packets; figure required amount of practice time for each level for each semester; figure final grades at completion of juries, enter final grades into Buzz
    • Registration: assist as needed, college applied music registrations and communicate with Registrar
    • Collect admissions and reporting data
    • Recitals / Performances / Tour Programs: oversee data collection and formatting
    • Oversee MSO Receptions / communicate with Social Chair about duties

    Assistant Cook

    Assistant Cook

    Classification: Part-Time, Staff Member, 42-Week
    Supervisor: Food Services Director
    Supervises: Student employees as directed by the Food Service Director

    Perform routine food service activities related to the setting up of serving areas and the serving of food to students and staff, perform cashiering duties, maintain cleanliness of food service facilities.

    Responsibilities

    The Assistant Cook should:

    • Assist in the operation of the kitchen for all on-campus dining
    • Maintain clear oral and written communication with the Director of Food Services on all food service matters
    • Assist with student employees assigned to this department
    • Recommend healthy and nutritious menus
    • Assist in preparing, heating, portioning, and serving food to students and staff according to established procedures.
    • Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment such as dishwasher and ovens; report faulty equipment as necessary.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Food Services

    Qualifications

    The Assistant Cook should have:

    • Experience in food preparation for large groups (or willingness to learn)
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • A strong church background
    • Ability to perform work while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
