Planning Initiatives

Academic Development

Academic Development includes topics such as: new academic programs; the culture of general education; adjunct integration; faculty and student research; faculty overload; “first-year experience” programming; retention and graduation rates and goals; refinement of assessment processes; educational technology; and transfer and/or articulation agreements.

 1.Improve student retention rates and completion rates
 2.Decrease faculty workload, redefine “load,” increase full-time faculty 
 3.Develop a campus-wide appreciation for the breadth of education
 4.Develop a strategy for the future development of ADEP
 5.Develop a plan to implement a First Year Experience
 

Financial Development

Financial Advancement includes topics such as: ensuring that the budget flows from strategic concerns; institutional response to economic conditions and changes; staff/faculty compensation concerns; IT funding; and other issues related to financial operations.

 1.Increase employee salaries and benefits
 2.Improve internal tracking of budget and empower budget managers
 3.Increase IT staffing and manage IT budget better
 

Personnel Development

Personnel Development includes topics such as: professional development support and programming; transition planning for administration and faculty; faculty/staff satisfaction, appreciation and morale; and faculty/staff workload concerns.  

 1.Develop a detailed succession plan for key personnel
 2.Develop a recruitment plan/procedure for faculty and staff
 3.Enhance the position of Director of Institutional Research and increase the load assignment
 4.Give better support and inclusion to adjuncts

 

 

Facilities Planning & Management

Facilities Planning and Management includes topics such as: the campus master plan; housing/property acquisition; the Front Door Project; and technology and other infrastructure developments.

 1.Create a Campus Master Plan for improvements and expansion
 2.Manage infrastructure improvements through improved tracking  
 3.Develop signage and Josephine entrance to campus through the Front Door Project
 4.Develop a Utilization/Accessibility Study for the entire campus
 5.Address space concerns for the Music Division both short-term and long-term
 6.Upgrade technology infrastructure
 

Growth and Marketing

Growth and Marketing includes topics such as: student recruitment; donor development; Board growth and development; corporate and community awareness; relationship building with government and community leaders; website development; community service involvement; and alumni connections.

 1.Increase enrollments for college and ACA
 2.Track and develop donor base 
 3.Market GBS more effectively
 4.Overhaul and enhance website 
 5.Develop better community relations
 

Student Services

Student Resources includes topics such as: career/vocation planning; placement programming; student technology expectations and development; curricular and co-curricular modifications and development; and student-support services enhancement.

 1.Make technology accessible and available
 2.Complete a security study and plan
 3.Add another qualified counselor to the staff
 4.Create a Student Commons area on campus
